2 + 2 HOUSE. Program: A single family 3000 sq.ft residence. Location: Fort Lee, NJ. Concept: Contextually, the premise devised is two simple volumes link by a vertical stair. The two volumes are equally divided yielding two solids and two voids. The voids provide a threshold from inside to outside, the solids provide permanence with the site. Each volume measures 21’6” x 21’6” x 28’-0” height, allowing for very simple means of construction; the parameters of the volumes are yielded by maximizing the zoning constraints, yard setbacks and height allowed.
client: - confidential - site: Fort Lee, nj program: Residence: (3) bedrooms, kitchen, living areas, library and private studio. sq.ft: 2,800 sq. ft. completion: December 2004 materiality: Cedar cladding and plaster
Program: A residence composed of 4 bedrooms, kitchen, living areas, library, and 4 car garage, pool and private studio. Location: Santa Ana, San Jose, Costa Rica. Concept: The house is in a residential development area, a setting comprised of modest sporadic low scale dwellings. Achio House sought to reconcile the various normative factors of program, site and technology and achieve a meaningful exisitence with its surroundings. Propriety of form is guided by notions of – inhabiting the edges, the house as a filter, thresholds and layers, intervals precisely scattered. A linear translucent bar defines and screens the south edge boundary line. Periphery wall secures the property and stabilizes the geometry of the site. The general plan of the site is set in oblique orientation to the site and is bound to the north property wall. This condition reconciles the plan to the property and recalls its relationship to the context. Achio house negotiates between interior / exterior activity, without compromising the basic premise of shelter and interiority.

Program: The program houses approx. 6000 of entry lobby, conference areas, communal and meeting areas for an international advertising agency. Location: New York, NY. Concept: The space targeted was part of a larger space that had been left unused but it directly connected to the main entry of company s international floor. Our initial idea was to handle the project as an insertion; to allow our intervention to demarcate the boundaries of old and new. Those boundaries to become apparent through very clear geometries and surface delineation.
Conceptually, we inserted two long bars into the existing space that define the new programs. One bar define the entry at the Elevator Lobby and the Reception Area, it also contains a seating area. The length of such space is emphasize by a graphic timeline adhere to the floor which describes milestone dates on the history of J WALTER THOMPSON. Physically, this bar is defined by the same homogenous material on the floor, walls and ceiling. Various splashes of color are presented at key points, such as reception desk and volume behind it celebrating a moment of arrival. The second bar takes place opposite to the Lobby/ Reception area. It extends about 90 feet in length; programmatically it contains various informal meeting areas as well as two flat screens that define both ends of the bar. Among other components, it houses a rotating table and bench that when not in use hide inside the wall, as well as various storage units built into the wall. The Bar is physically express by a continuous rubber surface that extends over the floor, walls and ceiling. Other areas are a flexible conference room and lounge areas that thru their very large translucent doors become one or two separate spaces. All the various furniture pieces through out the space were design by DATUM 0 and fabricated in Germany by Moebel Mock through an ongoing continuous collaboration.
client: J Walter Thompson Ad Agency site: 466 Lexington Avenue, 6th floor, New York, NY program: Lobby + reception area + communal and conference areas sq.ft: 6,500 sq. ft. completion: December 2001 materiality: Plaster, poured Rubber, Plexiglas and Steel, and rubberized concrete surfaces.
Program: Corporate offices for an I builder Company. Location: New York, NY Concept: The generating premise was to create a spatial metaphor coherent to the founding roots of Digital Pulp; to establish an architectural language representational of their ideals. Conceptually two oppositions through form and materiality established the parameters of the project. One representing the intangible side of the company; the digital and virtual; the other representing the tangible side, the physical aspects of the company. The space is basically composed of two wings; the joint of two buildings done by the landlord years ago dictates this configuration. This transition was a compressed, dark small space.
There are three key elements that yield a system of organization and a system of representation for the entire project. At the entry point, one is confronted by the first element, an amorphic soft form sheathed with blue rubber that operates as the seating area; it also operates, plan- metrically, as the hinge point for the space. The second element is an orange tunnel, which exploits the transition of the two adjoining buildings as well as the connection of two very different programs. It does not negate the connection but negotiates it, celebrates it. The third component is a continuous line of fix and operable translucent Plexiglas panels, uninterrupted from floor to ceiling, defining the private and public areas. The custom made operable panels are hardware less, they close and open on magnets. Other secondary elements are a large sliding translucent wall dividing the conference room to the gallery. During large gatherings this wall opens giving way to the gallery. Display panels in the gallery rotate from the wall to collapse into tables as subsidiary surfaces.

Program: Design of a Booth for a Stationary Trade show. Location: New York, NY Concept: There were certain characteristics about the stationary product that were revealed to us; Colorful, smart, utilitarian and sexy. These characteristics are revealed by how the product is layered; composed of its Colorful palette, subtle text and carefully placed pragmatic information. We understood these characteristics as having expandability.
We decided to come up with a system that would allow injecting these trademarks into the exhibit. A clean backdrop created by the vertical towers that all together become a Graphic system representative of Pantone’s Identity. The products displayed and suspended on their clean Plexiglas fronts became wonderful drops of color celebrating not only the product itself but Pantone’s sleek and precise image. The collection of all these moments together i.e. the careful semi-translucent storage, the product display, the blown up Pantone Chips, lighting, singularity by color, they all attempted to give more than a display, a COHESIVE EVENT, an image that could possibly speak about the Product and maybe further about PANTONE.
Program: CK REALTIME-Re-design of their display systems for a re-lauch of a product. Location: Worldwide Concept: The real time Kiosk deals with the premise of allowing the user to be projected and display into another Kiosk in real time via cameras and internet. Simultaneously, the user can see another person in his/her displayed in real time. The Kiosks can be place in the same store, or remotely in different cities in different parts of the world. The Kiosk allows for transcendence
